Thankx everyone.....please keep 'em commin' yourselves.......be so cool to see everyone give it a shot. And you know what's amazing.....is once you stick a Salmon hook in the vise........your whole mind-set opens up. Pretty cool how Bill took an old style and transformed it into something so special and perfect. Steelie will NOT be able to resist that thing. It's a perfect little Stonefly imitation, and they HATE! those things gettin' anywhere near their reds when spawing.
Bill, that fly in Purple would REALLY be the ticket, specially with just two to four (tail & or antenna), strands of Lavendar KF added in there...............trust me. :D ;)

Handsome flies guys.

Carl - Seeing your fly makes me realize that the pheasant church windows are under an utilized feather. I love the bold markings. They accent the fly beautifully.

It is a striking color scheme on those church windows. They do run a little stiffer than some other larger hackles. Fine for bigger flies though.

Great-looking flies, everybody. I tied a soft-hackle version of the Humboldt Railbird, an old steelhead pattern from the 1930s. If I can get my computer hooked up, I might post a pic of it here. :)

Here is another Pheasant hackle steelhead flymph that I tied in August. It was my steelhead tie of letumgo's Rusty Berlin Bum #12 trout fly.
Hook- Mustad 90240 #6
Body-Orange wool and Peacock sword in a dubbing loop.
