Never tied Steelhead flies before, we don't have them. We have Rainbow Trout but they do not run to the sea.
However a while ago I was given a few black hooks that said Salmon & Steelhead on the box, so what the heck!

Green & Orange.
Size 4 Black Magic N series hook. The hackle feather is not dyed, it is a natural green and orange feather off of some kind of parrot. I have had a few of these feathers for a while and wasn't really sure how or where to use them.

A more frontal view may give a better idea of the feather, but the green does not show as well as I had hoped.
