Re: Turton's Gold-coloured Dun
I think this would make a great sulpher pattern as well. A very adaptable pattern, for sure.

Re: Turton's Gold-coloured Dun
Your dead right Ray, it would. i c he tyed it in size 16.......but i bet if he tyed it in a size 12.....it would be really good for the larger early season Sulphers. i would love to fish it last week in June/fouth of July time.
btw, beside a couple GP Crest i picked up today.....i found a beautiful (Wapsi) neck..........just a Chinese neck..........but you know, that word "just" is really not applicable other than the price. $8.50 It's a beautiful color of dark honey/golden brown w/ black edges.....i'm gonna do somethin' up soon usin' it, and post a pic. i tell ya......havin' Wapsi so handy is a good thing. From what i'm hearing, Whiting is sayin' they don't even have any Brahma hen backs or Wolley Bugger hackle left. It's bad out there. i'm gonna be hittin' on all the vendors during set-up day at Somerset........Bill, since YOU will not be in there on set-up day .....you better let me know what your after so i can keep an eye out for ya. After i get done...........nuff said.

Mark - That sounds like an amazing GP crest. I've never seen one in the dark honey color shade you describe. Nice find!

Your tying skills would make Turton proud, Carl. This pattern virtually glows.

Re: Turton's Gold-coloured Dun
Ray, your confussing the two items. i said "beside," a couple GP crest.....meaning the entire heads sans the tippets (this time, i just has to may with the tippets still attached), i also got a Chinese NECK........THAT is what is colored as i described. .........maybe it was because i screwed up and left the ("S") off of the end of the word "beside"...........?
Bill, don't forget.....make a little list, and i'll keep my eyes open for ya on the 26th of Jan. We may have to conspire on the other days as well.....i may need you to make a purchase or two, for me..........hehehehehehehe. If i can't get away from my table.

I'm sure that can be arranged, Mark . Looking forward to a face-to-face finally.
