Glad to see you're feeling your fiesty self. Biopsy surgery is a bitch. All pain for no gain. I don't know 'bout you but my experience is two surgeons standing together ' Wow look at this wonderful big hunk of meat we just hacked outta her.' 'Yeah wow you did an awesome job.' 'Yeah I am awesome ain't I?' Well the wording might not have been exactly like that but it was the sentiment. Get better. Hope the results go well. Quit feeling sorry for yourself and just get better. :D You know you're always in my prayers.

Just finished another one......started it a few days ago actually.......but been mostly focused on the swap flies. :) It's on bout a 6/0 size blind eye hook.
real simple fly.........Montana Fly Co. red Lucent Chennille tag/multipul dyed red GP Crest tail/dyed red Ostrich herl butt/funny litle plastic red bead/Montana Fly Co. red Seal sub. dubbing/Montana Fly Co. red Lucent Chennille ribbing/some kinna red/black synthetic flash material wing/& a fushia colored collar w/ a dyed fushia head and a dyed red eye. Came out pretty all-right........i just hate that more often that not, i have to use just an average hook, as i only have a limited number of the bad boys.........fortunately the world is not gonna stop spinnin' based on that.  8-)
The next fly is gonna be on a Ron Reinhold Drought Water Dee 5/0 Extra Long Shank w/his exquisite finish..... :D A$$ kickin' low water blind eye..... :P

Mark - I read your materials list a few times to get a mental picture of the fly, before I see the picture of the finished fly. It will be interesting to see how close I am imaging the fly.....kinda like reading the book, before seeing the movie.....

Thass a cool analogy.......i can dig it. What your describing is VERY akin to what it's all about.......(why a cat closes his eyes when he's soloing).......mental pictures..........are all part of how it all started.....goin' as far back as you wanna go..............mfer's in the cave listenin' to the cat tell 'em bout how he killed the frickin' teradacktile.....or whatever the heck it was............ .................story tellin'.....................music................mental pictures.................REASONS to "Utilize"............................................you dig?
"Once an idea goes forth, it no longer belongs to those who brought forth the idea......it belongs to the world, to UTILIZE! to many people look for excuses, and not "REASONS!"........(kinna like this time-a-year [peace and goodwill] and in a week, right back to the same ole' horse****)......

see with your ears.....hear with your eyes.........ANTICIPATE.................& COVER!!!!! ;)

btw.....i just finished the next fly........the one on the gorgeous Reinhold...........hooks like that use to be so intimidating.....& they still are.....some.....but less and less..........why.....because i'm "utilizing" them.....yes, their entire existance, began with an idea..... :D

Sounds like you've been in the wars old boy? Just letting ya know that I'm thinkin of you from across the pond. I hope you feel better soon, I'm sure Misa is looking after you. :)

Your next fly is finished, that was quick, I can't wait to get a peep at it. It’s cool that you taunt us with the materials list before the release of the photo. I agree with Ray on the pre-visualising idea, seeing it in your minds eye first and doing a comparison to the real deal. 8-)

Chin up buddy everything will go well, I'm sure of it, there's too many folks that care about you. Besides, there's too much tying and fishing to be had, hopefully some we can share in the future... :D

Thankx Kars........yes you could say that actually.......to a large degree, life on the road is like goin' off to war.............over as long a time i was and still am, anyway. Just the decades of ware&tear and lack of sleep, etc., etc......but it was and still is BIG FUN!!!!! And it's what i wanted to do.....so i did.
No pain, no gain. If you can't do the time, don't do the crime.
But............anyway............i left out one thing in that recipe. Throat/Spey hackle: medium hot green Rhea feather tip.....
Far as all this health stuff goes.......i should know more very soon.....Wed. bout the biopsy, and then Fri. i go see my regular doctor. Try to find out if i do, or not, have this COPD crap. Better get some sleep.....it's 4:12 a.m. ;)

Just painted the hook for the next fly...........it'll be on a big boy by Alex Hayes..........with an UNREAL bead.....simply incredable bead. Painted the hook yellow from where you'll be able to see behind the tag.....the yellow fades into green, which fades into light blue, which fades into dark blue to the point. All for now............ ;)
