Thankx Kelly.....came out pretty ok. The rear body is just that varigated Japanese silk thread you can buy at Walmart......i've got the stuff in a bunch of colors. It changes color bout every 8 wraps.....somethin' like that.........very easy to use...........doesn't fray.....great stuff. The dubbing in front is the same stuff i've been using lately from Trouts Men. The first feather (palmered) is off a Blue Wing Teal duck.....then the collar feather is dyed green Silver Laced Whyendott(?) hen. That's Partridge gut for the eye. ;)

Wow you're on fire!!!

There's something about bumblebees that I just love. Maybe it's how they defy the odds and fly anyway. Or maybe it's just because they seem to like me. Anyway I really like that one. It's well named too. Whether you like it or not it's great. And Fan Dance...well it's amazing. I like how you incorporated the peacock tips and the Japanese thread is great. I'll have to look for some of that! The colours just blend so beautifully together. It reminds me of those multi-coloured popsicles.

:D

DOMO.....Vicki, just look in the sewing section at Walmart.....the spools are bout twice the size of what we usually use. So i do not use a bobbin holder when i use the stuff.....just cut a length and go. If i can do it, you can do, cause my hands are always a mess.
hank, that's just Peacock Sword. Sometimes i go to the trouble of making sure the stuff gets tyed in neatly......but not in this case. The body was done in a loop, with just a bit of wax on the back side of the loop. i bought a bunch of this dubbing Targus markets at a show in Boise, Idaho back in...........Jan. i think it was........? Some guy hadda booth and his kids were constantly at my table, so i tyed flies for all of them.....and i bought a bunch of stuff from him and he "threw" me a couple things.
Gonna be interesting to see just "Who" bids on the box, and why.....

Mark R. ~ I've pretty much exhausted my supply of superlatives as a result of your current tying spree, and these last three have severely compounded that problem. If I had to choose among them, it would have to be "Fan Dance", but each of the others has something special about it too. Darn it, man -- why don't you take a couple days off and go fishing just to give me a chance to recharge my vocabulary ;) .

Thankx Bill.....and believe me, if i knew the water was going to stay off all day, and the weather would co-oporate (i don't ask for much), i would definately go fishin'. i had a dream last night that i was fishin'.....and catchin'.....a nice big brown. It was a cool dream. i wake up this morning and it's snowin' outside..........jesus h. Dare i ask, what next? Well, back to the vise i spose. :D
Btw, we're havin' our (NAFF) Christams Party this Fri. night. i gotta go shoppin' for presents for the blind Santa portion of the show..........wish i was on "the show".........of a big high mountain lake in July fishin' right now. ;)

:D

Beauties both of them. Diamonds are a girl's best friend. That is a whopping diamond isn't it?

That bead in the second looks familiar but for some reason I don't specifically remember it. Que sera sera. You can't worry 'bout things you don't remember. I really like the colour combo. Natural but with a little flash. And exquisitely tied. Right on.

:D

MARK, that fly for me is beautiful!! That bead is a pure d KNOCK OUT on that fly. It goes really well with the fly in my opinion. Love the blue. Love the hackle. The head is to die for. The hook is really sweet too. :D I LOVE IT!! The second fly is a beauty too. That bead is too cool.
