When I showed the name of this fly to my wife, she said I was "juvenile". I'm taking it as a compliment. Not everyday that someone my age gets called "juvenile".   :D

I'm curious as to the length of that dubbing brush, though--the dubbing would cover, what, maybe 3/4th's of inch of the thread?

Jon (CreationBear) - The silk dubbing brush was about two inches long. I used between 3/4" to 1" to dub the body. The rest ended up getting trimmed off after the body was wrapped.

Ruard - I think the Danish word is "hæmorider"

One of my most productive flies is my version variation of the Red Ass soft hackle, tied with a red thread butt, peacock herl body with a gold wire rib and a partridge hackle. Using a lime green thread instead of the red, makes my version of an Egg Laying Caddis soft hackle. GREAT when fished in tandem with each other.

You're asking your trout the Main question that is asked here in N.M. regarding our chili peppers,
Red, Green or Christmas (both)? ;)
