Our blue wings don't start till march up here in Canada. Could you post the pattern.
Often I have been exhausted on trout streams, uncomfortable, wet, cold, brier scarred, sunburned, mosquito bitten, but never, with a fly rod in my hand have I been in a place that was less than beautiful.

Hook---------------Owner size 14 serial number 5177-011
Body/Thread------UTC 70 Olive
Thorax-------------2 strands of peacock herl
Hackle-------------Whitings American Hackle/ Light Dun
Pretty simple pattern.

Thanks, Pat. Our most reliable hatch is BWO's, almost every overcast day (in the PNW we have a lot of overcast days), the hatch starts about noon or 1:00 PM. None of that early morning stuff for us. Nice relaxed breakfast and a pleasant drive to the river.
