Hi Hans,

Is the hackle tied in a dubbing loop or just spread evenly around the hook shank?

Spread, but with 'weighting' towards the top half.

I can not see the picture of the fly, for some reason. Is anyone else having this problem? The other posts I have looked at this morning seem to work fine (photos are visible).

Still no image, Ray?

Shows up for me, and seemingly for Stephen.

Please retry?

Hmmm... I cleared my cache memory and restarted my browser and now I can see the picture fine. Wonder why it was only a problem with this post. Curious.

Anyway, beautiful fly Hans. The gold rib accents the dark color beautifully.

Hans- did you twist the tinsel round near the rear of the fly and then allow it to flatten wider as you approached the thorax?

Clever... I like the effect. I think this kind of tapering can add much to the effectiveness of a fly. This may be a stretch, but I would be quite curious to see a picture of this fly wet, if you are so inclined.
