I really like that fly ... first impression (and later too) was a dolphin fish fresh out of the water. Beautiful use of sword :)

Thankx Bill.....here's the last fly pic(s) i'll be posting until i get back. The name of the fly is "i've got you"................as in, "I've Got You, Under My Skin".....the classic by Cole Porter. Long story as to why i decided to call it that.........but since it's my last pic post til we get home.....surfice it to say, that like LTD (Long Tall Dexter), used to say just before ending the last tune of the evening on occassion............."i hope..........we left you............with a little something................to take home..............and put...........under your pillow." :D
i did this fly a yr. to two yrs. ago.......somewhere in there.......like many others still.............just never got around to takin' a pic.....
think i'm glad i never did paint this hook.....not yet anyway..... ;) .....btw, there are two Peacock eyes up on top there.....the bead is clear glass, with a blue center. That's a dyed purple Ringneck feather in there.....some Jay feathers at the base of the tail.....etc., etc. All that hackle is BEP tail feather fibers. 8-) .....click the pics.....

WOW! That is insanely cool. I have never seen such a multidimensional fly. Love it!

Thankx Ray....."insanely cool & multideminsional".........i'm very happy you see it for exactly what it is, and exactly what i was after. It's my feeling that an artistic fly "has" to go for all of that. Not that all flies don't have artistic elements.........but it's like, if you aint gonna fish with it.......then do somethin' you CAN FISH WITH! .....if you know what i mean..... ;)

Yet another prime example of how Mark takes numerous dissimilar shapes, colors, and textures and weaves them into a treat for our senses. Thanks for posting this beauty before your trip, w'head.
