beginning to look like "later" is gonna be tomorrow...........this has been one of these rare days where a discovery makes you either wanna slit your wrist, or get off your ass and do something................i'm still working on deciding which it's gonna be............................ :| :oops: :roll: :?
things like this are few and far between.............thank God..........but when they happen..........they're frickin' tramatic........and not easy to take.....
http://www.vksteelworks.com/Piscivore.html ........humility is always a bitch. But a good kick in the ass is usually a blessing in disguise.......now where'd i put that damn razor blade?...................... :(

w-h, Howdy;

Looks like ya won't have to get a degree in metalurgy.

Thinkin' he's brazing some togather and heat treating them afterwords for the hooky lookin' ones.

For the flat lookin'ones rough cut with a jig or scroll saw, filed and polished. then heat treated, painted then
as the Magic Man sez ..."ZOOT-ZOOT ... poof anutter 'un done.
Just runnin' some ideas thru my swiss cheese brain.....

i'm sure it really can't be that difficult.......to make a hook........course we're not exactly just talkin', "a hook." you need a "few years" experience to do the job as well as he obviously can, not to mention alllllllll the tools, a serious work space that you can just devote to ALWAYS bein' filfthy...........and an equally serious heat source, and a hell of an inventory of steel...........in other words, i'd bet the guy is still in his 40's and already been at it for a decade................case closed. With it all bein' as time consumming as it must be......i doubt i could live long enough to make, (as replcements for what i already have), thousands of hooks......not and have any time left over for tying.........lol...................oh well................never mind.
i'll find that razor blade sooner or later................actually............... :lol: .............i'll get over it.............it just takes a while..........i shoulda saw it commin'.............i'm gonna go drink a 5 hour energy drink..............i gotta snap out of it.............. :roll:
just thought you'd like to see some amazing work..... ;)

hank....."faith" aint got SQUAT to do wiff it..............trust me.............. :lol: .................... :roll: ............just be glad your not affected.....

there are simply no words to describe the level of combined craftsmanship and artistry involved in making those hooks..........let alone the depth of imagination and on top of everything else...............the skill required to successfully tye on them............and the vision to see the sculpture carved out of thin air................i have not been able to tye today..........and that may continue for some time..........although i'll try and get my swap flies finished.............somehow................... :|

usually when something like this happens.........depression eventually receeds over to inspiration...................we'll see.................... :?

ran out of edit time...............but i was letting you know..............that........the only way you could ever possibly understand is if you'd ever been inspired by a hook............simply in and of itself.................but these are not hooks...............they're universes...................

w-h, Howdy;

Got cut-off doing an edit. Had it all typed out hit send poof gone time-out... :twisted:

Did a Google of just his name. Turns out he's some kinda hot-shot metal sculptur.

http://www.vksteelworks.com/vksteelworks.html

He-be one of those artsy-smartsy types. Prob'ly sits and draws out his ideas and takes up to a month to build it.
