Hans, could you post a picture of the "Capercaillie" material? The name looks familar, but I can't remember what it looks like. Lovely fly!

Ray,
Here is a quick&dirty snap of a Capercaillie tail feather. On the Mottled Partridge I simply wrapped a couple barbs to shape the thorax.
Other feathers on the bird have similar banding, and I have posted earlier flies where I either hackled or winged with Capercaillie.

Thanks Hans. I've got some wild turkey feathers with almost the exact same coloration and markings. These may make an excellent sub for the Capercaillie tail feather barbs.
