I like it Mark. Ethereal and light. Very nice technique. Nothing wrong with that one!

Ray, i finally did a fly last night using those Pintail feathers you sent me.....the long ones............ originally i was going to use them for winging, but as it turned out, i used them for tailing. The two together as a single tail. Tyed them in 3 different ways and fimnally went with a bity of a tented affect. i also found a stash of Pintail feathers that i forgot i even had.......... so i used two more of them, even longer for cheeks of a sort, over the main wing which is Argus feathers. i'll try and get a pic up asap. It's on a Lucas XXL 9/0 Noble D painted yellow by Ronn..... $24 hook. Came out pretty good, although i'm not totally happy with it...............par for the course.............. i think i'll call it Butterfingers. ............long story, involving LTD....."Long Tall Dexter"............of Gordon. ;)
Ok, here's the story in short form.....Bruce Lundvall President of Blue Note Records, Michael Cuscana record producer, some women and Dexter are in a resturant in Paris one night after a days filming of the movie, Round Midnight.....(i was in Paris at the time with Art Blakey, we were working at The New Morning).....Dexter has just bought a brand new very expensive Hearingbone dinner jacket and he's wearing it. At some point in the eve., the women accidentally knocks over a glass of red wine all over Dexter's brand new jacket. And in his enimitable and most endearing way.....long and slow and deep in voice.....and drenched in Pure Class.....Dexter had but one word to say........"Butterfingers." :D During the Keystone years.....we had this one door man, who used to do impressions of Dex.....one night Dex comes to work, and walks over to Kevin (the doorman), and again in that voice of his..........says......."Kevin..........Do Me." i could give you 100 Dexter stories..........but that's another show..... 8-)

Mark, those are pretty cool. I love those pardo feathers for tailing. I've seen them used in some interesting ways, but never as a collar hackle. Nicely done.
