...Ummm... already there...
http://streamtime.blogspot.com/search/label/Tenkara... and the Tenkara isn't allowed in competition... yet.
Roadkill: The LL was built using graphite II while the VPS-Light was made using Graphite III. Same taper, different actions. A buddy of mine is all about rubbing my nose in it because he has the "original" and I have only a pale imitation... pffft. The VPS-light is still a beautiful rod, no matter how you slice it. I just wish the components in it were better quality. If you come across a blank or two in your travels, let me know.

Yeh they did bring out the LL in the 3rd Gen graphite. There are quite a few out there in various wgts and lengths. Love my 905

I'm going retro this year, with my 35-year-old Fenwick FF805, matched with a Pflueger Medalist of the same vintage. I reclaimed the rod from my ex-wife, who co-opted it when I taught her to fly-cast while we were dating. The reel is the same one I have been using all along. It's amazing how forgiving the old hollow glass rod is, and with a double-taper line, it roll-casts like a dream.

There are a lot of great glass rods being produced now from folks like Mike McFarland and Mark Steffen (and from what I hear, the new Scott's are great as well)--but it's hard to beat Jimmy Green's Ferallights. I've got a FF-70-4 that stays in my pack next to my Tenkara rod at all times, and I'd love to get my hands on the elusive FF84 and "elusive-er" FF83.
No doubt the old Winston glass rods with their Fisher lineage would be great as well.
