The bend in the hook point makes me think of the drawings of Dr. Seuss. Cool.

So Ray.....is that why they call me the cat in the hat??????? :D

i put a single Spey hackle feather in between the two saddle hackles in the wing on this fly............the front veiling of the bead is also the same saddle hackle as in the wing............there are two different types of feathers and bucktail in the tail.......and that throat hackle is dyed Blue Eared Pheasent..........
You can get that stuff from the guy who owns the Red Shed fly Shop in Idaho. (google) He always has a booth at the different shows out west......and he specializes in materials for tying Steelhead flies........has a lot of dyed Rhea and the like.......

i must of tried 10 times to embedd another pic of this same fly..............but it aint happnin'........ :x  :?

That's a beauty Mark! I love how you manage to get so many fun elements in one fly and it still stays cohesive! As for drinks, it reminds me more of a Zombie. ;)

Thankx Vicki.........that's a VERY astute observation..............and it has everything to do with the messege within the art. Because i was in front of the music (virtually) evey night for so many years, and living my life with the musicians on the road for so long.........i was able to gain an insight into how "things" work on a level that was invaluable to understanding what it is. Jazz is the ultimate form of democracy............TRUE democracy..........everyone on the bandstand has to work together, equally and with complete respect for one and others contribution, and when that happens, the "FUN" is REDICKALUS! :D
It was a bitch sometimes............for me.............because i "knew" that no matter HOW much fun i was havin'.....and we talkin' BIG FUN! i could NEVER, EVER have exactly the same level of fun that can actually be had ON the bandstand........i spent an equall amount of actuall working time ON the bandstand...........setting up and tearing down, and even during sets at times......and an equal amount of time in the dressing room, hotel, bus, plane, train, whatever...........but that magic time during performance, (of which i was a critical element) could never be equalled off the bandstand, the way it can, ON the bandstand. Only the cats can have THAT level of fun, yet we can all enjoy it equally....if your open to it and listening hard enough.....if you learn "How" to live, "inside the note".....if you able to let the music wash away the dust of every day life. And that is what my flies are sposed to do............i dedicated most of my entire life to the music.....and nothing has changed. i just tye flies now.......... ;)

Yes that magical moment is the shortest most fleeting of moments. It is the rest of the performance that allows that moment to exist!

It is YOU that allows that "Bright Moment" to transpire. You recieve what you invest. (Payback is a M**********)..... :D
IF, you "Listen" hard enough.........with the coreect attitude and the right INTENT.....you'll find it............or at least you'll be open to it when it comes..............when you go to church, your there to be helped, healed, to give thankx, to praise, to worship, to have fellowship, to find affirmation and reaffermation............and grace. And alllll of that can be found, in a single note. IF, you listen hard enough...........and stay out of your own way.........and you must learn to breath correctly as well. The music will teach you how to do that............and then the vocabulary will become second nature to you.
It's a way of life.......as are all disciplins...........or paths to wisdom. A long journey of dedication to something beyond yourself. Yet it takes care of you.....so you serve God by being true to it. Bright Moments. ;)

Vicki, the rest of the beads have a home on others of the same hooks.....yet to be tyed. Thankx again for the beads. :D i know you were a bit taken back by the Tsunami fly.....so i figured posting these would cheer you up. ;)

Hey Mark, I'm glad you found such a good use for them! That first fly is named perfectly. It reminds me of walking through a spring forest after a soft warm rain, the sun shining and steam gently rising from the leaves. And the second one, red hot, mama, red hot!
