This was/is a VERY inexpensive bead.........but i just love the color of it. Just reminded me of rootbeer.......... :D so i "floated" it, right in the middle of the shank........well.....almost the middle..... ;)

Root beer Float is a good name. The bead is very nice. Is the body ice chenille? Anyway it reminds me of the froth on the float.

As for the Bubble Gum that's fantastic, Definitely more Bubble gum than Cherry Bomb. The bead's not the right colour.

i can't remember the name of the material exactly......i got it as a gift in our goodies bag at the show we did in England in '09. Got it in that color (white & silver), and a gold (gold & silver) color, and a black (black & gold) color.....maybe that's it.....anyway..........one thing i do a LOT of............is tear the names off of things......and especially price tags........i don't wanna be reminded..... ........but the thing is, i don't like to think it terms of "Krystal Flash" or "Flashabou" or "Angle Hair"..........i'm painting...........just using color........not materials per say.........i want my mind to be free of all the b.s. of ever having to remember what i did.....nessessarily..........and i aint never gonna repeat a fly anyway.......unless somebody gonna REALLY make it worth my while..........know-what-i-mean?
So here's an example of what i mean...........below. :D ...........bummer.....i gotta get mark to delete something before i can post anymore pics........ :(
try back later..............

All cool ~ both flies and names.

Damn! Your vice is smokin' hot Mark & Misa is "on her game" from the photography side. The one you call Blue Moon may be my new favorite. That one really resonates with me. I love the various themes. As soon as I see the name, I understand the color components and construction. Ain't it great to have the ideas flow like that? For me it kind of ebs and flows. I can sit at the vice some days and have no idea what to tye, then other times I have a half dozen things I want to try. I enjoyed tying the flies for Lawrence because I could tye a range of different flies. It gave me a reason to play around with my foam cutter and learn to tye VERN-O's minnow pattern (he tyed the minnow pattern at his tying demo last year). I then got to share it with others at the Guys-Flies-Pies event in Rochester last weekend. We all pass on the inspiration from others...but you already knew that didn't you.

Thankx everyone.....i been burnin' 'em out lately.....got more to post to, but ran outta pics space.....ooooohhhhh Mark. :D
Your sure right about that Ray.....we absolutely do get inspired by others work. It's exactly the same with the music..........it's a good thing that we influence eachother and inspire eachother..........it means we're using a common lauguage to communicate and develope an understanding. That way "The Messege" flows back and forth amoungest us all.....and is reinforced and strenthend. ;)

Somehow this fly (once finished) just made me think of Brooks Sheilds in the movie Pretty Baby.......that was such a cool flick. New Orleans round the turn of the century..........DAMN, that HADDA be the place to be.
