i SEENT it! WOW!!!!!!!! THAT is buggy.........KILLER tye. LOVE it! Very very cool Ruard. ;)

for those with eyes.....bout why i dig Ruard's "splitted" thread, so much.....(way cool).....dig.
during a certain 10 yr. or so period of time.....i worked a LOT with the Jerry Gonzalas and the Fort Apache' Band in N.Y. and allllllllll over.........and we had this thing, (you know how bands are), where we'd be talkin' bout, "i seented it.....and i likeded it".....or.....i hearded it.....and i likeded it." but when something was way beyond that.....really MAJOR.....we'd just skip right to, "i SEENT it." as in i SEENT IT!!!!! well.....that fly does it for me..... ;)

that's an utterly fantastic design and tye Ruard. 8-)

You've done it again Ruard! Terrific fly and great presentation (photo). I know Mr. Nemes would get a big smile looking at your compliment to his MDC pattern. Kudos, my friend.

Very nice...I was just doing inventory on my flybox and noting that I'm really short good caddis patterns. :) I'm curious about your choice of mole, though: what properties does it have that make it better than, say, hare's ear or muskrat?

Mole is a very fine short soft fiber much more so than any of the ones you mentioned. It dubs very finely and can be just dusted on the waxed silk.

If you put mole in a splitted thread it keeps a kind of halo around the shank of the hook. In this fly the total body has to be of mole and peacock because the Mother's Day Caddis has peacock and mole in it: see the swap thread #15B inthe cabin chapter on this forum.
Hare has longer haires so you cannot get that tipical halo.
