Cellulite Fly Tying Thread

Post by gentleshepherd » Wed Jun 19, 2024 7:50 pm

I purchased a couple of boxes of fly tying thread in an online auction and was shocked that the box weighed 30 plus pounds, in the one box was 27 boxes of "Cellulite Fly Tying Thread - Artificial Silk" I have a ttache d apic of 1 of the boxes, each box has 12 of a color. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated....

I would have to personally examine a couple of rolls to offer any advice.

Of the books that I have, this is the only one that has a pattern that calls for artificial silk. I’ve been looking for this color for a long time.

I have no idea what that is? Sorry.

It is a thread that looks like it is made out of multiple strings(?) of very fine filaments. I have been playing with it a bit and if you don't put a lot of pressure on winding it , it usually stays together. It is a bit fragile. I have been trying to understand some of the other comments made on here and on Facebook, but there has been no set direction on how to really use it.....I'm looking for someone that might no how to use this in todays modern society..
