Re: Leisenring for sale
There is also another copy offered as a "Buy it Now/Best Offer" listed for $45.95.
Does anyone have a copy of Leisenring's original book, The Art of Tying The Wet Fly (from 1941)? Does it have material that isn't in the follow-on book from 1971, The Art of Tying The Wet Fly & Fishing The Flymph?
Thanks- Ken

Ken,
I only own the original edition so I cannot compare with the version published later. Hopefully Lance Hidy sees this and can answer your question.

Ray,
Perhaps a look at the Contents page from the 1971 edition will answer my question.
It appears the later edition has the 12 chapters from the original book (Part 1, The Art of Tying The Wet Fly) and then 3 additional chapters (Part 2, The Art of Fishing The Flymph).
Does your 1941 edition consist of these same 12 chapters that make up Part 1 of the 1971 edition?
Thanks- Ken

Re: Leisenring for sale
So, the opening bid of $22.00 was the eventual winner; what a steal for that person! I hope it was a Flymph Forum member. A few years ago, $100.00 was a good price for this book.

Yeah, I did get lucky all right. I thought sure I'd be in a bidding war with folks here. It will make a nice gift to a friend venturing into the world of wee wets and flymphs.

Re: Leisenring for sale
Alright--victory for the home team! Congrats REE. I thought about bidding, thinking it could be good to have a 2nd copy that would be great for the next Secret Santa Swap. I'm glad I didn't drive up the price. I'm sure the seller is surprised/disappointed!
