I know Norm's pattern refers to General Joseph Hooker, but having just come from a thread where Doug uses the words 'love' and 'sassy' in the same sentence, my head went somewhere else. So, when Norm writes General Hooker, I saw general hooker; you know, as opposed to a specific hooker.

I believe my ancestor fought under General Hooker in the Civil War, in the battles of Antietam and Fredericksburg. He spent the first couple years of the war in the infantry, then reenlisted in the cavalry. Guessing that he got sick of marching…
