So I spent the better part of the day today trying to work on some iron blue nymphs/ flymphs. They turned out okay but I really need to work on proportions, which is something I’ve been working on since 1967
Anyway I’m getting there, and I really appreciate the fine folks on this site who share patterns and help those of us who just aren’t artistically gifted but wish we were.
Thank you to all of you, Mike.

Those will fish just fine as they are tied. Fish are the best judges of your work!

Dear Partsman Mike!
These two look fantastic! They have that fuzzy aura about them which I like and I'm sure your tribe will like too!
I know what you mean about proportions and trying to get them right! Sometimes, you look at a pattern and think, "that should be easy"! Then the dubbing comes out or the thread doesn't land where it's suppose to!
We practice, we learn, then we practice some more! I think that's how our predecessors did it!
Your work is awesome Mike! Please keep practicing! Show us some more!
Doug

I'd be extremely happy if I tied those flies.
They look buggy and the eyes of the hooks are very clean because of the beautiful heads you made.
Awesome job.

Dubbing well done is so much harder than you would think it should be; perfect dubbing is unattainable.
I mean, unless you're Old Hat.
Your flies are awesome! Love that Iron Blue...

I am especially drawn to the second fly. Remarkably fishy! (sincere compliment)

I really like these fly patterns. Pleasing to the eye and definately fish catchers.
Well done.

Nice flies! Early spring here in the East. I'm ready for it already.
