Loss of Breath 2
I love the coloring on this Prairie Chicken! Absolutely beautiful!! Thank you REE! When I heard about the Prairie Chicken it brought back memories of Rothsay, MN. It is a small town not far from where I used to live, Fergus Falls, MN. Anyway, they have the world's largest Prairie Chicken.

I can't wait to try this on a few other flies. Thanks again Ron, very much appreciated!

Nice wee spider. Love the coloring of the Prairie Chicken hackle. Glad you like the bird.

Awesome post! I had to immediately show this to my wife (bird watcher) and suggested that we need to go see this statue. Very cool.
That fly is terrific. I love the color combination.

Next time we go to Minn., we will have to stop and see that big bird.
I got my prairie chicken skin but haven't had time to tie anything. I love the coloring it has and can't wait to start tying with it.
That's a great looking fly you tied jcwillow777.

Re: Loss of Breath 2
Its just tan midge tubing. I need some BR gold wire to make the transition from the tag to the body look neater.
I used the pattern nymphing and swinging. It produced well for me.
Air temperatures reached 100 where I am fishing but the runoff water is still very cold. I was hoping to see more caddis than I did. Yellow Sallies are the bug of choice right now, but there is just enough caddis around that this pattern did well.
The fly has no name.

With the high temps, afternoon fishing is over for me on the Gunnison. Tomorrow I will battle biblical numbers of mosquitos to catch Arctic Grayling .

Thank you Ron. That can not be magic with the tag looking so horrible.
