Hi Otto, I have never fished in Japan, except for a fish market in Hakodate a bunch of years ago, where you dangle a bare hook in an indoor pond and catch a live squid. They prepare it for you right there for you to eat it! The catch rate is pretty high.

You must post about your fishing later on.
