Tri-color Rusty
Lance shared some dubbing strands of Pete's with 30% hare, muskrat, and mole mohair. What a great combo. The trifecta of dubbing. They were twisted on primrose silk. Of course I had to use that combo some where. Just an experiment pattern but that dubbing blend is money.
I hate it when I think I'm buying organic vegetables, and when I get home I discover they are just regular donuts.

I have to get out the blender and tie a few of those! I have never added mole to the other two.
What size is it?

I tied this on a #15 Gaelic Syl Nemes.

Another dandy Carl! The segmented theme is pure genius! I too was privy to some of Pete's mohair dubbing thanks to the kind offices of Lance! I truly did not feel worthy even to possess this historic dubbing but I did it (tied swap flies) and it felt terrific! To tie with the same material that Pete himself handled and used....Wow!
Keep them coming Carl! I'm (we're) loving every morsel of this!

Fish when you can, not when you should! Anything short of this is just a disaster.

That golden/honey Badger just flows into the primrose and dubbing.
Absolutely amazing pattern, Carl!

Re: Tri-color Rusty
Carl mole mohair? is mole the color of the mohair wool? maybe dumb question, but I'd not heard of the two together...
Re: Tri-color Rusty
That's how I took it.
This is the example that Lance shared in the Facebook group.

Re: Tri-color Rusty
The only mole mohair I could find online was a stuffed toy Mole made out of Mohair!
So, I just subbed real mole fur in the dubbing, tied a #14 with Kimono Silk and an unidentified India chicken.

Thanks, Carl, for the inspiration!

Beautiful flies. Never used a mixture of three types of dubbing. Looks great.
