Re: Is pink the "secret sauce"?
One of my top producing flies is a version of the pink squirrel. It's murder. I don't use a crystal flash tail and instead of a pink chenille collar on top I just do pine squirrel or domestic gray squirrel in a dubbing loop for the body with pink ice dub or shredded up killer bug yarn in a split thread for a collar and a gold bead. Or I'll do the squirrel the whole way and just use a hot pink bead. Try it!
Re: Is pink the "secret sauce"?
My most productive fly has a little pink dubbing spun on orange silk.

That's a gorgeous tie, Lance; it looks ancestral, a family fly.

That is a beauty!
I hate it when I think I'm buying organic vegetables, and when I get home I discover they are just regular donuts.

Besides a Tups, this is the only other "pink fly" I use. A general soft hackle with salmonberry Pearsall's.

"Pink" sounds like a good Fly Swap theme. Just saying.

Beautiful fly. I would participate in a pink fly swap.
