I really like the pattern, Ray; it reminded me that should tie up a few Genesee Jewel's.

Genesee Jewel is my go to fly when I'm after some Alewives. They can't seem to resist it, and they put up a pretty good fight on a 3 or 4 weight.

That pattern works well for me up here; not so much a spring pattern, but later on. I believe I first ran into it when I saw it tied by Mark Libertone. Alan Petrucci tied a helluva' Jewel as well.
