Read 1/3 of it on a flight today. Great reading! Puts the history and development of soft hackle, wet and nymph flies in context (for a newbie like me at least).

It is an excellent book, one of the best I have read on Wet-Flies.

I bought this book back in '95 when first published. It was my first book on the subject and is still a go-to for reference and instruction. I have most of Dave's other books and find all of them well written and easy to read. It covers all aspects from theory, tying, and fishing. Well worth the ticket price!

Got my copy in Jan. 2000.....Dave signed and personalized it at the Fly Fishing Show in Somerset, N.J. i think that was the last time he was ever out for the show.....i had lunch with him in the hotel bar.....and never saw him again. Very nice guy.
