Size 12 GCO heavy wet fly hook
Olive 6/0 Uni thread body
SLF Olive black leach dub thorax
Partridge hackle- probably too heavy

The hackle is only too heavy if you think it's too heavy.
I like the body color with the gold tag.
You should have no problem feeling tugs on the business end of the line.

Another dandy Darrell with "the look" that I mentioned earlier! Hackle density? Who cares! The trouts don't! It's looks very edible! The trouts, me not so much! Great job friend! We can't wait to see what's next!

Like the gold tag... ala LaFontaine's suggestion that the gold tag on dark flies has historical relevance!
