Re: An evening on the river
Mike, I did very well Friday on the Roaring Fork. I tied a few October Caddis pupa using Swiss Straw as wings. Similar to your photo/technique.
I am currently tying some tan pupa usingvthe same technique in preparation for a float on the Colorado tomorrow.
Thank you for posting your pattern.

It did. At the time I thought it had saved the float and day. A little Gray and Partridge along with the pupa did double duty in bringing in some decent BrownsBoarmountain wrote: ↑Sun Oct 09, 2022 3:11 pmDUBBN wrote: ↑Sun Oct 09, 2022 2:47 pm Mike, I did very well Friday on the Roaring Fork. Happy to return the favor. After all, it was your midge pupa that produced for me.
I would love to see your pupa pattern you came up with.

The only good thing about my poor photography skills is, you can not see my horrible tying .Boarmountain wrote: ↑Mon Oct 10, 2022 11:58 am Happy to return the favor. After all, it was your midge pupa that produced for me.

Wayne - Don’t be shy. Your photography and tying skills are both exemplary.

As was I.

I went on a float by myself yesterday, on the Roaring Fork. The fish hammered the Gray Caddis. I had a really fun trip.
