Carpet muncher caddis

Not exactly a nymph but...oh well.
HOOK- Size 8 natural bend 2x lond diiachi
CASE- Carpet string from my son's closet pulled in to dubbing, twisted up in a dubbing loop, and trimmed to a cylinder shape.
HEAD- Chartreuse antron dubbing
LEGS- Phesant tail fiber butts

Dubbn....I am too! We don't really have many caddis where I am and the ones we do have are tiny black ones. I had the dubbing first and thought it would make a cool looking case so I looked up some recipes to see what size they used and this was the hook one of them chose. I was just doing it for fun. Is it much too large?

No, I do not think it is too big at all. Heck, it could do double duty as a Cranefly larva. Its a good looking pattern.

Now thats what I would call a suggestive pattern.
I read caddis in the subject line, Dubbn saw cranefly in the picture, and I see a cress bug with an egg sack.
Fish that in a Limestone creek that has a bit of vegetation and you'll put a hurt on the trout population.
