Holy Cow Roadkill,
That is one beautiful pattern! I am fixed on the purple silk used! Wow!

Fish when you can, not when you should! Anything short of this is just a disaster.

What those other guys said. This is a staple in my boxes. Purple being my personal kryptonite, I use a different color; but man, you make this pattern look sooo good.

Re: Peacock & Black
I've been using a peacock and black for years, but not with the purple silk. That looks like a killer fly. I will be adding that to my box for when the trout come back out to play this fall.

I will try your technique, if I can make it work. Beauty

Aught to be irresponsible! Lovely color combination.
I’ve tyed something similar with claret thread (arguably reddish-purple) and starling.

Re: Peacock & Black
Lovely tie.
I think any fly tied simple with peacock herl body and hackle is a killer. I tie them with different dyed colour peacock herls, ribbed with different coloured wires and threads. The addition of a tag is another plus point too.

I've been tying this lately too! I've been using claret pearsalls some with natural black, and some with furnace hackle. Haven't fished them yet but I have high hopes. Nice work!
