Gorgeous. Did you use Ruffed Grouse for the body?
I tie a faux Breadcrust, as I dont use alot of the grouse quil.
That is a great producing pattern on some of my local rivers, like the Roaring Fork..

I do not know what bird the quill comes from. I have a quill section that Dick Talleur gave me long ago saying "here use this for Breadcrusts". I have heard that the originals were tied with grouse quill.

Breadcrusts I've seen in the past had a body made from a split grouse tail feather with the feather barbs trimmed short. Gave a real spikey look to the body, very caddis like.

I tried that. What a pain in my tookus. You have to split the stem, soak it for like, 20 years to soften up the white pithy material in the center of the quill in order to scrape it out. Then, ...you still have to be able to work with the mess of a feather you have left.
