Saw a photo on here of a nymph called the Elmo and it reminded me of a really effective fly for me by Ted Trueblood called the Trueblood caddis. As the original caddis I hide a small strip of lead wire in the underbody and tie it in a weird greenish/yellowish color as pictured. I also tie it weightless in pale pink and yellow for sulphur emergers and it does well. Very easy bug to fill a box with!

Chug- I'm definitely no photographer. All I have is my crappy cell phone camera, not even an iPhone, but I do love playing with fly photos. I hope to upgrade to a real camera one day or at least a clip on macro lens.

That looks awesome. I really need to start putting more work in to hard, glossy wet fly heads. They are really the cherry on top of a good fly.

Nice tight looking body. I agree with you on the heads and its something I need to work on as well.

What's the material going along the back? Is it peacock herl?

Its pheasant tail on the last fly posted. Peacock herl on the authors pattern.
