Will do Mike. Ron, a neighbor ordered & raised some for me & they were nice. I'll ask her were she ordered from & post a link.Mike62 wrote: ↑Wed May 25, 2022 3:59 pmCall Alvin Theriault, he may have something close; god knows he grows some strange stuff (by strange, I mean really cool).Ron Eagle Elk wrote: ↑Wed May 25, 2022 2:42 pmUh, Steve, save one for Ray and one for me please. Thanks Ray. The hackle is natural welsumer brahma hen. Not dyed. What I love about the welsumer is that the barring is so distinct, & the brown coloration has a translucent glow. Order some chicks in the spring & by late fall you'll have it. Down to a partial cape so considering raising a few next season. If I do I'll save you one.
As an aside, I just tried finding Welsummer hens for sale near me and they are scarcer than the proverbial hens teeth this time of year.
Gorgeous pattern Steve!

Ron, here is the spinning tool. Coat hanger wire about 6" long, the crook is slightly open. With practice it can be spun fast, rolled between the palms, or it can be twirled with your fingers which is slower, but who's in a hurry? The price is right.

That's a gorgeous cape.

That bird is stunning! So is the fly. I'm loving the translucent ginger on the side too! Btw what hook is that tied on?
