Red Hot Spot black Magic Spider

Post by joaniebo » Sun Apr 03, 2022 4:41 pm

I didn't get to do much trout fishing last season (to be honest, only twice), but on both occasions, I started the first day using the old and successful Black Magic Spiders.

In going through some of my fly tying materials, I noticed a few strands of UV-dyed peacock herls a friend sent me several years back. So I decided to use a couple strands of the red-UV herls instead of the regular green herls. Here's a pic of the first half dozen.

Cheers

Bob

Those look deadly! I bet they will work a treat. Thank you for sharing and inspiring us.

Very well done. Hot spot Soft Hackles have become popular the past year here in Western Colorado.
