PPP Soft Hackle

PPP Soft Hackle

Partridge, Peacock and Plastic

Hook - Mustad 3399, 3906 or equivalent

Thread - UTC wood duck

Body - 1 strand doubled of tan mesh vegetable bag

Ribbing - 1 strand doubled of tan mesh vegetable bag twisted into a rope and colored with a marker

Thorax - Peacock herl

Hackle - Hungarian partridge

Tie in the doubled strand of mesh bag material behind the hook eye and wrap to the bend of the hook. Twist the strand into a rope, color with a marker and wrap the ribbing to the eye. Tie off and trim.

Great looking fly, Norm. Reminds me of some flies Hans Weilenmann did back in the FAOL days using mesh vegetable bags. A lot of tyers were raiding their veggie bins for bags to tie with.

Ron, last time I saw a Veggi bag tye it was one of Ruard's. He used to
use all the colors. Wonder what's going on with some of our European
members ... Missing their input, truly.
