Cellire is varnish and here is the gold standard of varnish.
If you use varnish throughout the tying process flies become bomb proof. This includes swiping your tying thread with varnish before applying dubbing. It is the easiest way to dub seal's fur.

I'm no chemist, but Cellire and Spar Varnish are as far as I can tell very different things. Man-o-War spar has a mineral spirits base; Cellire has toluene. Perhaps someone which a chemical engineering background can explain this with more clarity--and also outline the toxicity risks.

After looking around a bit, I found the Windsor Newton varnish is about $3 cheaper than at the art stores.
That Wapsi applicator looks neat, but not at the $9.49 Bass Pro Shop wants, or the $8.50 from Orvis.
Flymasters.com sells it for $1.99.
Any comments from a user?
