This is the style of fly that I do well with. I am tying some SH BWO's when I return home. I better give your pattern a try while I am at it.

I like the look of the “3 strand rope of Peacock Krystal Flash” against the olive rabbit. Especially nice touch.

Extremely effective looking fly.

Thanks everyone! This fly was created after tying a number of plain Pheasant Tail nymphs for a donation yesterday.

I thought about the success I've had with my PMD Transition Flymph and decided to try some for the BWO's.

After 2 days of testing in Central Oregon, I have to tie more.

It definitely has place in my boxes after being a good producer with finicky Rainbows from 7 to 14 inches and one 10" Mountain Whitefish.

What Bill means by "narrowing down the fly choice" is Ron deciding to fish soft hackles for the first time this season after Bill's success the day before with his variety of midge imitating softies. On day two, I as usual, hit the water about 1.5 hours before Bill finishes his morning coffee. And as it turns out, this particular morning, I'm fishing with one of Bill's Transition flymphs he gave me the day before.... Just before he steps out of the camp ground into the river, I'm putting my net away after landing this fish....

As usual, my riverside camera stinks... so can't appreciate the beauty of this wild rainbow. She measured 19.5 inches on my rod ruler, and after holding my breath for about what seemed an eternity, came to the net despite the 5x tippet she was latched to. I had to cut the tippet and leave the fly imbedded in that fishes jaw, so I couldn't prove the fly used, but trust me... I'm tying a batch of those babies as we speak.

Great couple of days with Roadkill and my friend Stephen on the Crooked. Thanks for the fly Bill and posting the pictures.
