Never too early! Great ties. Did you use a resin on the bodies?

Guilty on the resin. I really like the options it opens up to my fly tying.

Marvelously fishable. I am really digging the construction of these flies (thread body/D-rib segmentation/UV resin sculpting). Elegant construction.

I’m trying to figure out how you got the red heads (hotspot of color). Did you switch threads partway thru the tying process, or color the thread with a marker?

Are the tail fibers from your new CDL hen?

My photography must be improving if you could pick up what the tail was
Good eye, Ray!

I am too lazy to change thread. It is a Red Bic marker for the head.

;) The pen trick is simply and effective. I was just using this method yesterday on a fly. I needed white thread for the body, but wanted a black head. Sharpie to the rescue!
