Superior Thread's "Tire Silk" Color Reference Charts
I have not yet tried this type of silk thread, but became interested because some of the diameters may be closer to Pearsall's Gossamer thread (heavier than the Kimono silk). The Superior Thread Tire Silk comes in several sized (thicknesses), including larger diameter button hole twist thread.
If you look carefully at the lower right hand corner of the second photo, you can see the white strands. These show the various sizes available. Anyway, just sharing a couple more options, as Pearsall's silk becomes harder to come by.

Mark Libertone mentioned Tire silk back in Feb 2012. He really was on top of things regarding soft hackles.
