Carrot and Black

Nymph or Soft Hackle

Hook Mustad 3399 or equivalent
Thread - Black
Tail - Brown hackle fibers
Body - Orange floss or wool
Thorax - Black chenille
Hackle - Dun hen hackle, trimmed top and bottom (for nymph, untrimmed for soft hackle)

I like this as a soft hackle so I didnt trim the hackle top and bottom

Tying American Trout Lures - Reuben R Cross
Flytiers sure have a way at making things difficult

I like your interpretation of that pattern. Orange and black is a staple up here for salmon.

From the title, this is not what I expected to see. Wonderful dressing, Norm. I'll be adding a few to my box for this spring. Thank you for this one.
