Ginger hen

Post by Updtate » Tue Dec 14, 2021 1:34 pm

This past weekend in the Catskills I found a splashed ginger hen cape. I cannot prove it but it looks like a Darbee/Doc Fried to me

this Fly the Ginger I found in Mike Hardings book North Country Flies. I liked the looks of it and reproduced it using some hard to come by materials.

Hook. Daiichi Alec Jackson crystal finish soft Hackle size 15.
Silk. Pearsalls gossamer 6b sherry spinner
Hackle. Ginger
