Re: Tippet Teaser
I'll be sitting on the front steps anxiously waiting for the mail man.
I will make sure they are put to good use. The flies will be posted over on Fly Tying Forum, in the steelhead section.
Mark - I will send you a quick PM when the hooks get in. Thanks in advance for your generosity. Much appreciated!

Re: Tippet Teaser
i'm sending another "batch"...........one dozen each of the old Mustad 3655's (i think that's the right model number, i'll check it).....these puppies are beautiful.....they look a lot like the 3899's, but have a straight eye. You can use them the way they are or chop the eye.....they make a beautiful MOM (Mary Orvis Marbury), hook once the eye is chopped off. As you know her Bass flies were tyed snelled. So you'll get a dozen each of 5/0 and 3/0. And then i'm also sending another dozen, 6 each in sizes 2 and 4, of the Targus 7999 Salmon (nickle plated, up eye), hooks. Have fun.

Re: Tippet Teaser
Now I won't be able to sleep on Thursday evening, while I lay awake thinking about when the mail man comes. Thanks for the early Christmas! Ho ho ho!
PS - You might want to get some more sleep, before you end up giving away all your hooks!

Re: Tippet Teaser
.............fat chance of that happening any time soon...........i use to give away hooks to almost anyone anythime they ask.....but i've slowed that up quite a bit. After giving away bout 12K over the last decade.....unfortunately, i can't be so indiscriminate about it anymore. So now i usually just donate to the boy scouts and other kids groups, to our local FFF affiliated club's monthly meeting raffles, and to young tyers who have nothing, or "Certain" talented and respectful individuals, who i feel deserve them because of their abilities, and who they are as people. You for instance. Plus i save some back always for "The Kid" who i've been giving hooks to now for bout 4 years or so.....as he makes me the coolest hooks, so i take care of him bout 100 to 1. Most anyone who's ever been over to the crib and who tyes flies, always leaves with hooks as well. But even that is slowin' up nowdays too. i have to make the stash last as long as i can, so i can continue to share it when it's important.

Re: Tippet Teaser
Mark - Christmas came early for me!!! The hooks arrived in todays mail. Holy smokes that was quick! Man these hooks are great. Those Gamatsu hooks are some SERIOUS irons (heavy and wicked sharp). I can already envision a few flies on these (baitfish patterns). The weight of the hook should help these fish deeper that the hooks I have been using. And the salmon hooks are awesome. I have not tyed on any of the larger sizes (size 7 is my main fishing size around here). Once again, this gets my old tying juices going. Much obliged, my friend. MUCH OBLIGED!
