Re: First fly posted: #12 Red Clock
Kevin,
I really like your Red Clock pattern. Love the Ringneck Pheasant hackle. I get a lot of use out of the pheasant skins I own, both male and female. The female is really nice mottled brown feathers (excellent for soft hackles).
Best Regards,
Ray (letumgo)

Thank you, Ray.
I couldn't agree more with you about pheasant skins, particularly the coloring on a hen.

I hate it when I think I'm buying organic vegetables, and when I get home I discover they are just regular donuts.

Kevin,
Excellent, excellent post! Your #12 Red Clock pattern is awesome! The hen pheasant being guarded by your dog is a classic too! You need to hang that picture on your wall!
Please keep us fed with your wonderful tying and photography! Welcome to the forum! I think you will like it a bunch!

Fish when you can, not when you should! Anything short of this is just a disaster.

Thank you both.
As I tie a few of these up for a swap on another site, I am working on getting that unruly hackle to behave a bit.

Thanks all for the welcome and encouraging words.
I took a nice rainbow on this pattern late Saturday afternoon on my local river, breaking the surface as he chased the fly at the end of it's swing. Surprised me so I nearly missed the set.

Kevin,
A very attractive pattern for sure! I love the almost burnt orange color of the silk you have chosen! Very nice! Try and lay in as much silk as you can especially orange! There is a magic in tying with silk!
Great work! Please keep us fed!
