HS Mosquito Soft Hackle
Mosquitos have been in my fly boxes for over 60 years. I mailed off a box of flies today to a friend's 6 year old who caught his first trout all by himself a few weeks ago in our old home waters.
Tying up 10 patterns for him, I included some Grey & Brown Hackle Wet Flies for him also from those days of yore. Thinking about the flies I used back in the 50's & 60's, I decided to add a new Mosquito SH to my boxes...

Love it! That's a really nice mosquito pattern. Now that I can see again, I'll be adding a few to the box. Thanks for sharing it.

I know I've got all the materials to tye these, but locating the moose mane among my many plastic bins will be the challenge.

The moose mane goes well with the hackle and the colors all through the fly are pleasing to the eye.

Re: HS Mosquito Soft Hackle
Ron - Thanks for the offer, but no. I have some already. The trick is finding it amongst my tying supplies.

Ray, usually, when I can't locate a material I make a quick trip to the fly shop. After purchasing the material I was after, plus a half dozen things that just looked cool, I go back to the bench. I sit down, move a cape, and there are three packages of the material I couldn't locate in the first place. Sometimes it's just easier to buy some more, rather than search.

Ray, I’m sort of shocked that you don’t have it neatly organized somewhere(Jesting of course)
Soft and wet - the only way....
