John Nichols Brown Darter in the swap using LaFontaines double magic technique also produces a beautiful variegated body. Love his fly.

Thanks for posting this Bill. I have never thought of a double dubbing loop before. As Ray said, that opens up a lot of possibilities. My pea brain is already spinning. (No pun intended)

Definitely a wonderful pattern! We have a lot of golden stones on the streams in NE Pa! I'll give this a try. The two dubbing loop idea has a great look to it! I guess you could probably do these ahead of time? Thanks Bill for the post!
