The Sports Illustrated Book of Wet Fly Fishing is an underappreciated gem. Pete Hidy wrote the text, and it was edited with help from the Sports Illustrated staff. The book never received much attention at the time and, even today, remains largely undiscovered. The artwork by Anthony Ravielli is gorgeous. The book, although short, is considerably broader than Part II of The Art of Tying the Wet Fly & Fishing the Flymph, which was also authored by Pete Hidy. Great advice from a true wet-fly master. --Phil

I also have a copy of this wonderful old book. It’s signed by Pete Hidy with an inscription to his friend Jack Rudfelt
a local art teacher.

I love the illustrations. It must be some kind of lithographic technique, made after photographs. They are gorgeous. And, yeah, much more about wet fly tactics in this tome
