Attractor nymphs

Re: Attractor nymphs
I've been using the wire in tubing technique to tie a variant of Landon Mayer's tube midge....it calls for x-small wire inserted into the midge tubing.... Have to say, that if you can get 18 inches of that wire in the tubing you are a magician...or have really a steady hand. The little wire midge tied as a variant of the standby Z-midge has been doing well on the trout on the Crooked for me this winter... But tying that fly is a pain in the bohunkus...if I could take a decent picture, I'd attach one..but you get the idea..

Hey there Dubbin...the buggyness as well as the material contrast in your attractor patterns is amazing...I've got an often dirty river that these would kill on...I would love to pinch these from you

Re: Attractor nymphs
Were you drifting, or fishing from shore?
Looks like a nice day.

Man, I envy your weather.
Re: Attractor nymphs
The valley I live in averages less than 9 inches of precipitation per year.
The Gunnison where I do alot of fishing , near Delta Colorado averages less than that.
45 minutes and less than 5 miles away from me as the crow flys, averages 30 feet of snow per year.
This time of year temps can be 60 degrees Fahrenheit one week, and - 20 the next.
Re: Attractor nymphs
Never used tube with wire inserted - years back, I did use 28 guage wire with clear insulation, a by product of clock production...
