Great flies!! What is the wing case on the first one? I think I will tie up a variation with some with gold holographic tinsel.

No, split shot has been my friend for decades. No need for adding weight.
Sometimes I add a brass bead, some times I slip the bead on the tippet above the fly. Never for weight, just for flash.
