I never thought of it that way, probably because I don't think that way. So a golden stone imitation it is then.
You are correct on the hackle Dougsden. After I tied a few I had to ask myself; why did I use this hackle instead of something more of a brown? I still don't know why. I like this pattern! I also like gingerbread cookies and all their cousins! You have hackled these beauties with those rare and wonderful dark partridge feathers (correct me if I'm wrong but it sure looks like it!). The tailing is unusual too! I like it! The whole pattern says light!
