Unnamed Skues Nymph

Post by Johnno » Sun Sep 20, 2020 2:49 am

Appeared in the Flyfishing Club Journal in 1930.

Tail and hackle of blue dun, body of peacock quill ribbed with fine gold wire, thorax of hares ear.....

I’ve tied it on a modern hook obviously, but I’m sure it’ll work just fine as a small generic mayfly nymph

A classic really....

That sure reminds me of the Redquill nymphs I have been using lately.

Some patterns are timeless. Your nymph is one of them.

Great job!

Johnno,
That is really nice! You have done a great job in bringing to life an unnamed pattern from the master, Skues!
